WELLINGTON EAST GIRLS COLLEGE 2006 - 2007

When Macky returned from Malaysia he was asked to be the Assistant Coach of the Wellington East Girls College by the Head Coach. He duly accepted as they were the reign NZ Secondary Schools National Champions. It was a great opportunity for Macky to work with some top 16 - 18 year old girls in the country.

It was a different experience for Macky as he was responsible for majority of the preparation and coaching of the team, however the Head Coach made the team selections. It was something Macky happy with it as the Head Coach was a good friend of Macky's.

The two years that Macky was involved, 2006 and 2007, the team added to their National title by winning it again to make it three consecutive years as NZ Secondary Schools National Champions. Many of the players were selected into the New Zealand Secondary Schools National Women's Team and New Zealand U20 National Women's squads.

"It was a good experience for me as it's the first time I have had a chance to coach a program that I am not responsible in building from scratch."
